A Brief Story:

I found him 5 days ago in front of my house. He was in the ground and screaming all the time.

I went to a vet near here and he told me it was because the bird was hungry.

At first, I decided to leave for mother nature to take care of him. But then it started to rain a lot in the first day and I went to see if the baby bird was still alive on the second day.

He was, but looking weak and asking for food all the time, so I went to a Petshop near here and bought him a new home and some food.

The Vet wanted to be sure of which bird I had, because depending on the food, it can be dangerous for the animal.

Looking online, we found out that the baby bird is from a breed called Shiny Cowbird.

The Species

Shiny Cowbirds have a very unique characteristic: They don't make nests and leave their eggs in the nests of other birds. And as if that wasn't enough, they still kill the eggs of other species, so that the parents can take care of their own.

Opportunists...

It seems like he will be like that when he grows up

Let's see, I can't wait to see him bigger and stronger. Time will tell if this is really his breed.

Breve Historinha

Eu o encontrei 5 dias atrás na frente da minha casa. Ele estava no chão e gritando o tempo todo.
Fui a um veterinário perto daqui e ele me disse que era porque o pássaro estava com fome.

No começo, resolvi deixar para a mãe natureza cuidar dele. Mas aí começou a chover muito no primeiro dia e fui ver se o passarinho ainda estava vivo no segundo dia.

Ele estava, mas parecia fraco e pedindo comida o tempo todo, então eu fui a um Petshop perto daqui e comprei uma nova casa para ele e um pouco de comida.

Raça

Procurando online, descobrimos que o passarinho é de uma raça chamada Chupim.

Eles tem uma característica muito única: Não fazem ninhos e deixam seus ovos nos ninhos dos outros pássaros. E como se não fosse suficiente, ainda matam os ovinhos das outras espécies, para que os pais cuidem dos seus com todo cuidado.

Oportunistas..

Hoje pela primeira vez ele tentou voar dentro da gaiola e se pendurou sozinho. É muito bom ver ele ficando forte.
